Nanoplasty & Hair Botox

Nanoplasty is now available at the studio. Unlike keratin, which smooths the outer cuticle, Nanoplasty is biometric: it repairs and straightens the hair from the inside using amino acids and nano-technology, for longer-lasting, healthier results. Hair is left smoother, glossier and far easier to manage, with much less need for hot irons day to day. Because the timing and the cost vary from person to person, we ask you to call, message or pop into the studio for a consultation before booking, so we can look at your hair and give you an accurate quote and appointment length.

Good to know

This service isn’t bookable online yet. The timing and the cost vary from person to person, so we ask you to call 03 6452 1695, send us a message or pop into the studio for a consultation first. Once we’ve seen your hair we’ll confirm the price and book the right amount of time in.

Every appointment starts with a quick consultation so your stylist understands exactly what you’re after. Pricing is confirmed before we begin, and length, thickness and the look you want can all affect the final quote.

Before & after your treatment

Nanoplasty questions, answered.

Everything worth knowing about looking after your hair once the treatment is done. Ask us anything else at your consultation.

Results depend on your hair type. Nanoplasty is a semi-permanent straightening treatment, so your hair may not be entirely straight after the first visit, and some waves can persist, especially with curly or thick hair. A permanently straight result might take two to three visits. The aim is perfectly straight hair without any harm to it.

That’s entirely up to you. You can have it washed in salon straight after your service as a final touch, or wait a few days. Washing in salon lets you tie your hair back or tuck it behind your ears without risk of creasing. If you delay washing, avoid creasing the hair until your first wash, and washing the same night is recommended to minimise this.

Once you’ve washed your hair after the treatment, you’re free to style it however you like, including clips, tying it back, sunglasses, braiding and accessories such as headbands.

The idea of the treatment is to make your hair easier to manage so you can avoid constant heat from irons and straighteners. A hairdryer is fine if you prefer a very smooth, straight finish, as the product is heat activated. Always use heat protection first, such as BKT Perfect Ten Leave-In or BKT Silk Touch Oil.

To keep your Nanoplasty looking its best for as long as possible we recommend the BKT aftercare range. It’s made specifically for post-treatment care, with highly moisturising ingredients to nourish and hydrate the hair and help prolong the results, and it’s vegan and cruelty-free.

The complete kit is BKT Hydra Shampoo 300mL, BKT Hydra Mask 300g and BKT Perfect Ten Leave-in 300mL. We have a special in-store offer on the full kit, so just ask one of the team when you’re in.

Your hair may lighten by two to three shades after the treatment. Colour services, including grey coverage and semi or gloss, can be done the same day as long as the two post-straightening shampoos are completed first. Lightening services should be done at least four weeks beforehand.

We advise waiting two to four weeks either side of the treatment for foils or highlights. Please also tell your colourist you’ve had Nanoplasty and ask for a strand test before any bleaching or foiling, so we get the best result for your hair.

Even without Nanoplasty, hair can dry out or be affected by sea water and by pools with chlorine and other products. To avoid that, use something protective before you get in the water, such as BKT Perfect Ten Leave-In or BKT Silk Touch Oil.

The timing varies with your hair growth and how you feel about it. Very curly hair may need it every three to four months to maintain root touch-ups, while straighter hair can go five to eight months. Ultimately it’s up to you.

Keratin is cosmetic, while Nanoplasty is biometric. Nanoplasty repairs and straightens the hair from the inside using amino acids and nano-technology for longer-lasting, healthier results. Keratin mainly smooths and straightens the outer cuticle, so results are shorter-term with less restorative benefit.
